INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE KETA “EMPOWERED EDUCATORS: INNOVATING TEACHING FOR TOMORROW”
On November 7-8, 2024, the International KETA Conference (Kostanay Teacher’s Association) took place at the A.Baitursynov Kostanay Regional University. The event was organized by KETA President Elena Bozhko along with faculty members from universities and schools in Kostanay.
Participants included Colin Guard, the Education and Culture Attaché of the U.S. Embassy, and a delegation of U.S. English teachers working in various universities across Kazakhstan in cities such as Almaty, Semey, Karaganda, Oral, and Petropavl, including Nancy Lindberg, Ghadah Rahman, John Marushak, Douglas Moony, Joshua Bowen, Emmett Cashman, among others.
Throughout the two-day conference, participants conducted workshops, presented papers, and held poster sessions addressing current topics in English language teaching, along with exploring innovative uses of information and communication technologies for teachers and students in schools, colleges, and teacher training institutions across Kostanay and the Kostanay region.
Associate Professor G.K. Eskatova from the Department of Social and Economic Studies also led a workshop titled “Teaching Professional English Using Neural Networks,” which highlighted new approaches to teaching professional English with the integration of neural network technology.
