1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. Work provision of the Academic Board of the University was developed in accordance with the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan paragraph 9 of Article 44 from July 27, 2007 “Concerning Education”.

1.2 The Academic Board is one of forms of collective leadership of a higher educational institution.

1.3 The work of the Academic Board subjects to the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Provision of the Academic Board of the University from 26.11.2007, as the present Regulations.

1.4 Work of Academic Board is based on collective public discussion of matters within its competence.

1.5 The Academic Board of the University organises its work on the basis of the approved work plan developed for the relevant year.

2. OBJECTIVES OF THE ACADEMIC BOARD

2.1 Assistance to further development of the university.

2.2 Combining the efforts of the university management, its teaching staff, administrative and management staff, educational and auxiliary staff and service personnel in order to train competitive specialists who meet modern requirements.

2.3 Creation of necessary conditions for students and teaching staff of the university for successful implementation of professional education programmes and university development strategy.

2.4 Strengthening the material and technical base of the university.

3. COMPETENCE OF THE ACADEMIC BOARD

The competence of the Academic Council includes:

3.1 Submitting a proposal to change the organisational structure of the University  for consideration by the general meeting of founders.

3.2 Submitting proposals to supplement and amend the Charter to the general meeting of the founders for consideration of the general meeting of the founders to supplement and amend the Charter.

3.3 Defining the strategy and concept of the university development.

3.4 Decision-making on all fundamental issues of the organisation of educational, research, international, economic and other types of activities that do not contradict the Charter of the university.

3.5 Establishment, reorganisation and/or termination of structural subdivisions of the university (departments, faculties, etc.).

3.6 Approval of the working curriculum, academic calendars, forms of control and other documents related to educational, teaching, research and other activities of the University.
3.7 Hearing the Rector's annual report on the university's activities.

3.8 Hearing annual reports of Vice-Rectors, heads of structural units and other officials on forms and methods of teaching, research, educational, international, informational, financial, economic and administrative activities.

3.9 Consideration and recommendation for publication of educational, training manuals, monographs, methodological developments, etc.

3.10 Approval of topics and scientific supervisors-advisors of master's and doctoral students on dissertation research.

3.11 3.11 Consideration of questions on presentation of employees, teaching staff to government awards and honours, scholarships, prizes, recommendation for participation in competitions for election to full members and corresponding members of the Academy of Sciences, "The best teacher of the university", etc.

3.12 Consideration of petitions to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on awarding academic titles of professor, associate professor in various areas;

3.13 Consideration of other issues of current activity of the university, requiring collegial decision, attributed by the Charter of the university to the competence of the Academic Board.
