Academic Mobility
On September 16, 2011 Kostanay Engineering and Economics University named after M. Dulatov signed the Great Charter of Universities (“Magna Charta Universitatum” Bologna) and thus undertook to implement all the requirements of the Bologna Process, including the promotion of academic mobility of students and teachers.
Academic mobility is the movement of students or teachers-researchers for a certain academic period (including the passage of academic or industrial practice), usually a semester or academic year, in another institution of higher education (within the country or abroad) to study or conduct research, with the mandatory re-credit in the prescribed manner mastered educational programs in the form of credits in their university.
In Kostanay Engineering and Economics University named after M. Dulatov the program of academic mobility is implemented in two directions:
National (internal) academic mobility (Kazakhstani partner HEIs) is the training of students, as well as the work of teachers - researchers, in the leading Kazakhstani HEIs.
International (external) academic mobility (foreign partner universities) - is the training of students in foreign universities, taking into account their potential and ability to adapt to different learning systems in order to continue their education, as well as the work of teachers - researchers in foreign educational or scientific institutions.
Who can participate in the mobility program?
In the academic mobility program, as a rule, students of 2-3 years of study take part, because in the first year of study are studied mainly general education subjects, which do not require departure. In the last year of study it is required to complete an internship and write a thesis, which makes it impossible to participate in the mobility program.
What is necessary to participate in the program?
Are there any special requirements for students?
In order to participate in the program, you need to be a full-time student and apply for the Academic Mobility Program.
In addition, if you want to go to one of the non-CIS countries, you need to have a good command of a foreign language, usually English.
Where can I go?
The student actually has the right to choose any higher education institution in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan or outside of it, which will provide re-crediting of credits (i.e. grades for the courses taken).
In addition, the University has signed cooperation agreements with more than 40 higher education institutions around the world (Russian Federation, Germany, France, Italy, Lithuania, etc.).
What will happen to my studies at the University during the period when I leave under the academic mobility program?
All you need to do is to successfully complete the program at the host university, pass the session, and then a transcript will be issued with grades for the courses taken. When you return to the University, your grades will be counted, and if there are any courses you have not passed, you will need to take them additionally in the summer semester.
How are academic mobility programs paid for?
The amount and procedure of payment are determined individually for each student. This is connected, first of all, with obtaining the consent of the host university, as it will determine the order of payment for tuition. Some partner higher education institutions agree to accept students on a free-of-charge basis, others with partial or full payment of tuition fees.
In addition, the student should, of course, provide for the cost of flight to the country of the program, accommodation and additional personal expenses.
