History of the chair
The Department of Information Technology and Automation is a structural unit of M. Dulatov Kostanay University of Engineering and Economics and trains bachelors of engineering and technology in the field of information technology, automation and control and robotics. The department has been training specialists since September 1, 2004 and has extensive experience in educational technologies for the training of technical personnel.

Goals
The purpose of the department according to the strategic development plan of the M.Dulatov KInEU and the operational plan of information technology and automation is:
- ensuring the quality of higher and postgraduate education;
- transformation of the university into a socio-entrepreneurial university by integrating education, science and business;
- implementation of educational, scientific and educational activities at the level that provides education consumers with services that meet the world standard of education.
The main task of the teaching staff of the department is to create and maintain an entrepreneurial environment through the use of innovative educational programs and the results of applied research in their activities.
DUAL EDUCATION FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AND ROBOTICS IN KAZAKHSTAN / DIARKAZ
The main goal of the project:
Development, implementation, testing and validation of the Bachelor's degree program in the field of industrial automation and robotics with the introduction of dual training at three universities in Kazakhstan: Kostanay University of Engineering and Economics named after M. Dulatov, Innovative Eurasian University of Pavlodar and West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technological University named after Zhangir Khan.
Project objectives:
- to assist in the development and adjustment of curricula in accordance with the needs of industrial companies in the educational process of dual learning technology;
- involve industry specialists to identify specific training needs and develop the content of practical classes within the framework of dual training technology;
- to transfer and implement the best practices from EU countries that have many years of experience in dual education programs at universities by creating the capacity for periodic practical trainings by teachers and employees of the company;
- create tools and templates to facilitate the phased implementation of practical training in enterprises;
- demonstrate the advantages of dual learning technology in the field of higher education for all interested parties by testing and evaluating adapted curricula, necessary tools and teaching materials;
- to develop a methodology for the modification and reorganization of existing bachelor's degree curricula for implementation into a dual paradigm integrated in practice (in the context of Kazakhstan);
- to ensure the continuous use of the results by offering dual training technology to other educational institutions and enterprises.
Disseminate the results of the project and stimulate the creation of dual higher education programs in Kazakhstan.
Material and technical base
The department has a good material and technical base and qualified teaching staff, which allows students to obtain professional high-quality knowledge and become specialists in the field of automation of technological processes, information technology, robotics and industrial automation.
Currently, within the framework of the Erasmus+609757-EPP project-1-2019- 1RS-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP – DIARKAZ (Dual education for industrial automation and robotics in Kazakhstan – Dual education for industrial automation and robotics in Kazakhstan, implementation period 15.01.2020 – 14.01.2023) laboratories are being re-equipped with mechatronic systems from FESTO conducting classes on educational programs 6B07108 — Automation and control, 6B07138 - Robotic systems. In the laboratory 115 In "Automation systems and control devices for mechatronic systems", FESTO equipment is installed in which advanced training courses are held for teachers of colleges and universities of the Kostanay region in the direction: "Fundamentals of pneumoautomatics and mechatronics for employees of educational systems).
The main goal of the project: development, implementation, testing and validation of a program in the field of industrial automation and robotics with the introduction of dual training at M. Dulatov KEEU, as well as at partner universities Innovative Eurasian University of Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technological University named after Zhangir Khan.
Professional practice
According to the educational programs of the bachelor's degree of the chair, the standard curricula provide for educational, industrial, technological and industrial-pre-graduate practices. To pass all types of practices, end-to-end practice programs have been developed and there are contracts with profile enterprises: IP "Irgasimova Asemgul Maratovna", JSC "Transtelecom", LLP "GC Expert", JSC NC "KTZ" SHCH -26, LLP "Specialmontazh - 2", LLP "AiF", LLP "UplinK", LLP "SaryarkaAvtoProm", "KST BETON" LLP, "Kostanay Energostroy" LLP, RSU "Department of State Revenue for Kostanay region", Kostanay signaling and communication distance of the branch of JSC "NC"KTZ" - "Kostanay branch of backbone networks", "Evraz Caspian Steel" LLP, JSC "Intergas Central Asia" branch of UMG G.Kostanay.
Advanced training courses have been organized on the basis of a unique IT school created on the basis of KInEU in partnership with the Lerna platform (an international EdTech platform that collects courses from leading representatives of online learning: Skillbox, GeekBrains, SkillFactory).
Our graduates
Our graduates work in telecommunications companies, energy complex companies, KTZ enterprises, consulting and IT firms, advertising and publishing companies, banks and insurance companies, tax and customs system, financial, government agencies, large manufacturing enterprises of Kostanay region and Kazakhstan, in local administration bodies.
The department has 14 graduates, the geography of employment and the career of our graduates is a matter of pride for the teachers of the department and the university.
