30 years on the path to unity and harmony

Today, the 33rd session of the Kostanay Regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan took place.

The session was attended by the regional governor, Kumar Aksakalov, members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, representatives of ethnic and cultural associations, and members of consultative and advisory bodies. The main focus was on strengthening social harmony, developing interethnic dialogue, and promoting the state language.

Rikhsibay Mamedov, President of the Kostanay Engineering and Economics University and Chairman of the Uzbek Ethnocultural Association, delivered a report on the activities of the region's ethnocultural associations. He emphasised that the Assembly began its anniversary year with an active and busy agenda, holding more than 70 events of various formats.

In his speech, he paid particular attention to new initiatives:
"We propose to organise a regional competition among school graduates of various ethnic groups who are fluent in the state language. The winners will be given the opportunity to study at universities in the Kostanay region with the help of educational grants. Our goal is to instil a love for the Kazakh language in young people, introduce them to national traditions and strengthen their civic identity from childhood. We hope that the initiative will receive support and become a good tradition" said Rikhsibai Mamedov.

In his speech, the akim of the region, Kumar Aksakalov, noted that all conditions have been created in the region to strengthen interethnic stability, support youth initiatives and implement significant social projects.

"Representatives of various ethnic groups live in the Kostanay region, and each of them contributes to the development of the region. This diversity serves as a solid foundation for economic development" the head of the region emphasized. He also familiarised the session participants with a number of large industrial and innovative projects being implemented in the region.

At the end of the session, in honour of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, a solemn ceremony was held to award anniversary medals. Among those awarded was the President of the Kostanay Engineering and Economics University, chairman of the Uzbek Ethnocultural Association, Rikhsibay Mamedov. Congratulations!
