First graduates – the first big result!
Allur University hosted the defence of thesis projects by the first graduates of the joint educational programme "Robotic Systems" implemented as part of the international DIARKAZ project.
The significant event was attended by the President of KEnEU Rikhsibay Mamedov and the chairwoman of the women's wing of the Amanat party Gulsara Zhamankulova.
From their first year, students underwent training and practical experience in a dual format — half of their time at the university and half in industry. Zhanat Jabassova, Head of the Centre for International Cooperation and Project Implementation at KEnEU noted that this is not just the result of the educational process. It is the result of close partnership with industry:
"The DIARKAZ project is truly significant for us. It began in January 2020, and despite the pandemic, we implemented it. Kazakhstani and European higher education institutions participated in the project. Universities in Germany and Austria are recognised leaders in dual education. We learned from their experience, and today we can proudly say that the symbiosis between higher education and industry has enabled us to train true professionals."
Lyudmila Olknyan Head of Allur University added:
"It is our common victory that we embarked on a long-term project and saw it through to the end. The result was the creation of a new laboratory and the launch of an educational programme. “Robotic Systems” is an education that will be in demand for the next 10–20 years. Robotisation and automation are the answer to the challenges of today and tomorrow. May the project live and develop!"
KEnEU Rector Arman Ismailov pointed out:
"We were one of the first to develop a dual education system for this programme. From their first year, students were involved in real production. This isn't just education — it's a way for graduates to start working at a factory without needing to adapt."
KEnEU President Rikhsibay Mamedov shared his plans:
"We are striving for more. We are expanding international cooperation. We want to send our students abroad to exchange experiences. We are currently paying special attention to the digital field — the development of artificial intelligence and robotic systems. These are our priorities for the coming years."
As a token of gratitude, KEnEU presented Allur University with books to add to the university library, and the guests received personalised gifts from the host.
Graduates were awarded certificates of successful completion of their studies, and, as the students themselves admitted, it was an invaluable experience.
As practice has shown, dual education is a solid foundation for a sustainable partnership between education and the real sector of the economy. This is an example that is worth scaling up, which our university will continue to do.
