Professional practice

Professional practice of students is an integral part of the educational programme (EP) and represents one of the forms of organisation of the educational process, consisting in the professional and practical training of students at practice bases.

Professional practice is a university component of the EP and a mandatory type of academic work of students.

Professional practice is aimed at ensuring the continuity and consistency of the process of students’ mastery of general professional and professional competencies and is planned starting from the first year.

The University provides for the following types of professional practice for Bachelor’s degree EPs: academic, industrial (technological), and pre-diploma.

The types, duration, and content of professional practice are determined by the EP, the academic calendar, and the continuous working curricula of practices. Each type of professional practice has its own goals and objectives, on the basis of which the corresponding base of professional practice is determined.

As bases for conducting professional practice of students, organisations are determined whose statutory activities correspond to the profile of specialist training and the requirements of the educational programme, which have qualified personnel for the supervision of professional practice and a material and technical base.

Bases of industrial practice are organisations corresponding to the profile of the EP (or related organisations).

Academic practice is conducted in structural subdivisions and laboratories of the higher education institution, as well as in external organisations (educational, industrial, research, design), the main activity of which presupposes the presence of objects and types of professional activity of graduates under the given EP.

The purpose of academic practice of students of higher educational institutions is the acquisition of primary professional competencies, including the consolidation and deepening of theoretical knowledge obtained in the process of study.

Industrial practice is organised in organisations (industrial, research, design) whose main activity presupposes the presence of objects and types of professional activity of graduates under the given EP.

The purpose of industrial practice is the consolidation of professional competence, the acquisition of practical skills and experience of professional activity.

In the final year, for students completing a diploma thesis (project), pre-diploma practice is organised.

The purpose of pre-diploma practice is the completion of the writing of the diploma thesis (project).
